Community Advancement & Rural Empowerment (CARE) is not for profit, non-partisan and a Non Governmental Organization, Registered on Feb, 2011 under the Pakistan Societies Registration Act XLVI of 1961. Although the Community was involved in Social Activities since long i-e applied for registration. Before Registration the Community had experienced in performing social & physical activities from various projects like CIP (Community Infrastructure Project), since its inception it is passing through stages of development & serving the local community of Bannu at its best. It is striving for the social, economic and political development of the marginalized and underdeveloped sections of the society with a basic philosophy, an orientation and tools that would enable them to be on their own. CARE has established a comprehensive network of Community based organizations both for men and women in Distt: Bannu as well as in various parts of the province and FATA and has close contacts with a number of NGOs in the target areas in order to share information and experiences.
The organization has a vast network of Volunteer members and currently it has 300 volunteers, working in Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa. These Volunteers assist people in their respective communities as well as contribute and facilitate CARE in the implementation of different projects. CARE has an elected Board of Directors (BOD), which consists of seven members, employ for a period of 2 years. The BOD elects the Executive Director and other executive members for one year.
CARE is dedicated to empower the Rural Community of District Bannu as well as other parts of the province. There are profound barriers both physical and attitudinal that limit the opportunities available to poor people in our society. We are looking forward to the challenge of empowering the poorest people of the community in Bannu & Khyber Pakhtoon khwa as well as in FATA. We demand the government that it ensures rural community with equal opportunities to benefit from all of their programs, services, and activities (e.g. public education, employment, transportation, recreation, health care, social services, courts, and voting).
